Logo, brand, trademark… early on in my career, I was advised about the importance of a distinctive “mark”… something that, along with my work, would stand out and connect with clients. While I didn’t have a clue as to what that should be I did have the good sense to go to my friend, the multi-talented designer Woody Pirtle, formerly of Pentagram Design. Having worked together for many years on numerous projects, Woody was more than familiar with my photography.
Playing off my initials and the connection to morning (light) along with an orange tinted Times Roman typeface, Woody felt this was the perfect solution. And, in order to announce the new logo, he designed a poster with one of my images (see posters under fine art gallery of my website) and added the catch phrase “You have to get up pretty early in the morning to take better pictures than Arthur Meyerson”. While I was bit hesitant about using the quote, Woody assured me that it was more than appropriate and timeless. He was right. A.M. has continued to be my identity on everything from my business cards to my promotions right up to the opening of this website. Thanks, Woody!
