These photographs were from an assignment that allowed me the opportunity to travel the entire length of Route 66. Deciding on how I would photograph this piece of Americana, I began thinking of the view one sees framed through the windshield of a car. That frame gave me the idea to shoot the assignment with a panoramic camera. While none of the photos were actually taken from inside the car, it helped give the images consistency and continuity. It also forced me to look at things from a totally different point of view. And, in doing so, I made new pictures.
